MOVING FORWARD REDUX CLINIC REGISTRATION
At your request we are bringing back Moving Forward, our combination of defensive skills and hitting. It will take a slightly different format as all the work will be done at The Yard, 13730 Gamma Road, 75244. Also, the time frame will change some and even expand a little.
The basic program will be 10 sessions costing $250 for either the hitting or the defensive skills, or you can do both for $450. We are adding a “kicker” because the player can continue the sessions after he has completed 10, and the cost for each session after 10 will be $10 per session. We plan to continue throughout the spring, ending April 28, 2017. Sessions will be on both Mondays and Thursdays, from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM for hitting and from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM for defensive skills. We will not hold sessions during school holidays.
We will start on Monday, December 12. You can sign up after we start but you will still need to pay the initial fee and participate in 10 sessions before a player can begin the $10 sessions. Counting that day there will be 12 dates (or 24 sessions) before high school baseball officially starts and a total of 39 dates (or 78 sessions) before the end of May. The average cost per session goes down for each one after 10 but the value goes up because of the consistency of the instruction. If a player choses not to come to subsequent sessions but he gets in his 10 sessions and then hits a “speed bump” in hitting or defense, he can get a tune-up for $10 on a Monday or Thursday night.
During both the hitting and defensive skills sessions, there will be an emphasis on the mental skills needed to succeed in a game of failure. We will provide players with strategies to deal with the frustration, anxiety and sometimes anger that are part of the failure that go with this game.
If you only doing one 10-session package, you can pay in full at registration or pay $125 at registration and the balance the following month. If you are doing both hitting and defense, you can pay in full at registration or $150 at registration and the balance in two equal monthly payments. Remember, you can sign up anytime before February 1 for the either or both of the 10-session packages.
